With just a few weeks until the start of the Yorkshire Jets new campaign, which begins in Sheffield in January, Head Coach Anna Carter has unveiled the players who will compete for the Jets in the UK’s top Netball League.
There are a number of key changes from the 2014 squad, including the addition of international mid-court player Sally Butters, from Australia, and shooter Lottysha Cato, from Grenada.
The Jets have been having a productive pre-season campaign, most recently defeating Loughborough Lightening in Hull on Monday December 8th.
Coach Anna Carter’s side faced tough competition but an exciting and impressive performance in the second quarter proved the difference in the 47 points to 40 win at the city’s Airco Arena.
The Jets were playing without their new signing Lottysha Cato who hails from Grenada. She is joining the Jets for the 2015 Season.
Lottysha is delighted to be joining the Yorkshire Jets, “I love playing Superleague Netball in the UK and am thrilled to have been offered the chance to play for the Yorkshire Jets in 2015. I look forward to linking up with my new teammates soon to begin preparing for an exciting season.”
Head Coach Anna Carter is excited about the prospect of having the internationally respected player joining her squad: “Lottysha Cato has been one of the most exhilarating shooters in the Netball Superleague in recent years helping bring success to her team and her teammates. We are delighted she has chosen to play for the Yorkshire Jets in the 2015 season.”
Coach Carter continued, “I am currently building my squad for the new campaign, which begins in January, and Cato will add an exciting dimension to the team with our mix of young and experienced, home grown and overseas players. She is committed to helping build the profile of our team and I am sure our supporters will enjoy watching her as we take our home games across Yorkshire in 2015.”
Finally some sad news for the Jets faithful as Legendary Goal Shooter Jo walker has decided to take a break from professional Netball to concentrate on her off-court career.
mikeshaft.com wishes her the very best for the future and looks forward to the day that she returns to the Yorkshire Jets.
The Yorkshire Jets begin their 2015 season in Sheffield on Friday 30 January and will be playing home games across the region in Hull, Huddersfield and Leeds.
