Yorkshire Jets opened their 2015 Superleague Netball season with a commanding win against Loughborough Lightning last night (Friday 30 January).


On Monday 26 January 2015 the 8th Bishop of Stockport, was Consecrated at York Minster. This kind of appointment would normally make the local news for a couple of days.


Well for the past few hours I have been wondering what I was going to say about the situation regarding British Basketball which unfolded so dramatically yesterday. I think I will keep my counsel for the time being and just see exactly what is developing.


Basketball England’s biggest and longest running cup competition reached its climax on Sunday 25 January at English Institute of Sport, Sheffield where both the men’s and women’s finals took place with Cardiff Archers being crowned the women's champions.

Once again in recent years this is a competition that has been dominated by The Sheffield Hatters. Back in the 1990s the Hatters won the Cup 8 times in a row. But recently they have had more serious competition from Rhondda Rebels. In the early days of the National Cup for Women, teams like Crystal Palace, Northampton and Southgate also made their mark


Eight teams were involved in Sunday evening action in the BBL Championship and there will be no happier than Sheffield Sharks, who managed to snap Cheshire Phoenix's 11-game winning streak with an impressive victory on the road.
