Having picked up no fewer than four Molten WBBL Coach of the Month gongs to go alongside the WBBL Trophy and WBBL Championship title she has already delivered, Ellis was always going to be the standout candidate.

 Vanessa ELLIS

The majority of her fellow play-callers voted for her as anticipated, while there was also strong support for first-time head coach Chris Bunten of Team Northumbria, who guided his side to a third place finish during the regular season.

Ellis will continue taking her team towards a glorious WBBL treble with Hatters ready to play in this weekend’s Play-Off Semi Finals.

Her team are bidding to continue a remarkable campaign which has witnessed only a solitary defeat in WBBL competitions, alongside a sole loss in the Basketball England National Cup.

Ellis will take her side into the contest against Barking Abbey Crusaders looking for an eye-popping 20th straight win, having last tasted defeat almost six months ago.

Meanwhile the play-caller will then turn her attention next month to her duties as assistant coach of Great Britain senior women.

Ellis will enter the GB camp at the University of Worcester Arena, in preparation for EuroBasket Women 2015 Final Round in Hungary and Romania during June.
