On Great Mums

To all the new mums, old mums, never thought they’d be mums,
step-mums, trans-mums, couldn’t give a damn mums,
god-mums, grand-mums, she raised me like a mum-mums,
single mums, married mums, stressed out blesséd harried mums,
queer mums, poor mums, go without their dinner mums,
red mums, blue mums, not knowing what they’re doing mums,
stay home mums, working mums, feeling like they’re shirking mums,
sad mums, mad mums, all the single dad/mums,
big mums, mini mums, you’re all the best at cuddles mums,
we are the product of your making,
you taught us everything; biking, baking.
Whether we’re 10 or nifty 50, whether we’re good, or rather shifty,
whether we’re boys, or girls, or other,
we know you’ll always be our mothers.
So take a seat and have a brew, I hope Mother’s Day is good to you
