Once upon a time, in days of old, the Budweiser Basketball League would publish a Handbook at the start of each season.
This publication would reflect on the past season and look forward to the upcoming campaign.
It would also include all the Teams, Stats, Coaches and MVPs etc.
In this issue from 95/96 The Budweiser Awards would show that the Player of the Year was Roger Huggins of the Sheffield Sharks who would complete the double as Head Coach Jimmy Brandon was named Coach of the Year.
The Sharks, as a team, had completed a Budweiser League and National Cup double. What was even more impressive was the fact that this was the first time that the Sharks had competed at the top level of British Basketball.
The 7UP Trophy was won by Thames Valley Tigers under the stewardship of Head Coach Mick Bett.
The Championship Winners were Worthing Bears who included Mark Scott, Steve Nelson, Alan Cunningham and Herman Harried in their line-up.

Hi, just stumbled across this page, through the late eighties I travelled the country with the best away support in the league. Bracknell Pirates/Tigers of course and met, had an after match drink with Scants, hugs and once with a rather annoyed Steve Bontrager. In one away trip to Bolton we wound up Terry Crosby so much he fluffed his free throw, he looked mad then just burst out laughing and saluted the away fans. Great names and memories from a time when I travelled the country with no regard for work or responsibilities. Many thanks
