Yorkshire Jets finish third & will face Surrey Storm
- Comments: None
The win, by four points, means that Jets, with a 10 & 4 record, will travel to second placed Surrey Storm next weekend for their semi-final.
Today’s match between Jets and Mavericks was closely contested from the start with it going goal-for-goal for the majority of the game. In the end though, Jets determination and strength across the court saw them secure the victory by 54 points to 50.
Speaking after the game, Head Coach Anna Carter said: “Everyone at Jets is delighted to be in the Netball Superleague semi-finals and we are looking forward to our game against Surrey Storm on Saturday. Reaching the top four is a huge achievement for Jets, and netball more generally across Yorkshire.”
She continued, “We are grateful for the support and hard work of everyone in the region that has helped us achieve our goal of being in this position. We now have an exciting two weeks with the semi-final on Saturday and then a game at The Copper Box Arena on London’s Olympic Park the week after. All of the players are thrilled at the prospect and looking forward to showing true Yorkshire grit on court in our remaining games.”
The Netball Superleague semi-final between Surrey Storm and Yorkshire Jets will take place at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday 18 April at 4.10pm.
