For the past couple of years I have been the in-house commentator for the Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League. The Phoenix are currently one of the top teams in the country and are playing some truly awesome basketball.

There were wins for three BBL Championship title contenders on Sunday as Worcester Wolves, Leicester Riders and Cheshire Phoenix all enjoyed success.

It's double December delight for Cheshire Phoenix after their standout forward Demond Watt was crowned Molten BBL Player of the Month for the second time in a row.

Two of the BBL Championship's top teams met two of its bottom teams on Saturday night, with both games going to form as Esh Group Eagles Newcastle and Leicester Riders recorded regulation wins.

Every year between Christmas and New Year the Basketball community pay tribute to Haris Charalambous with the Haris Memorial Tournament at the Amaechi Centre Manchester.

Leeds Force and Sheffield Sharks played out a thrilling first BBL Championship contest of 2015 with Leeds coming out on top thanks to an awesome debut by Sam Attah and some late heroics from James McCann.

Friday's game will see Leeds Force travelling to local rivals Sheffield Sharks looking to avenge their recent defeat at home. Having said that, it could be another tough night for the Leed's boys as Sheffield would seem to be putting it all together at the moment. It's all there to play for.

Cheshire Phoenix play-caller John Coffino has been rewarded for his team's turnaround and newfound status as title contenders by being crowned Molten BBL Coach of the Month for December.
