In his first season coaching in the BBL, Coffino faced some early challenges in finding the right formula to get his team firing on all cylinders, but has come up trumps to lead his team on a superb eight game winning streak.

Just missing out on the accolade last month, some people might have expected the wheels to come off with three very tough match-ups against Glasgow Rocks, Worcester Wolves and London Lions during December.

But, Coffino and Phoenix came through with flying colours to show they are the real deal after winning their trio of games by an eye-catching combined 39 points to secure third spot in the standings heading into 2015.

Coffino and his players opened up with a comprehensive 80-61 win against the Rocks and then strode past Wolves 97-86, before wrapping up the action with an 84-75 success against Lions having had to dig themselves out of an early hole.

This time Coffino edged out Fab Flournoy who was also unbeaten during the period with Esh Group Eagles Newcastle, while there was a notable mention for Atiba Lyons of Sheffield Sharks who took his team to five wins in six December games.
