Well what a night we had here at the EISS last Friday? It is always an interesting time for me as we build up to the first home game of the new season. I arrived early at the venue after a truly horrible drive over the top. The weather, as you may remember, was terrible, but I arrived safe and well, and really looking forward to the game.

Well as you may know I run a website mikeshaft.com which has been around for years. One of the key things about running the website is that it gives people the opportunity to keep up to date with what is happening around the British game from my point of view. It also allows people to make contact with me if they want to.

Well as a massive fan of sport, it is difficult to know where to look these days. Congratulations to Ireland who have secured the Grand Slam in Rugby Union after a wait of many many years.

So it is 4:00am on Sunday morning the 19th of April, and I am in front of the computer updating mikeshaft.com. This really is one of the biggest days in British Basketball as it is the last day of the 2008/09 BBL regular season, and the day of the EBL Final Fours at the Amaechi Centre.
