Esh Group Eagles Newcastle became the first team to book a spot in the BBL Trophy Final, while Leicester Riders made a serious statement on joining the Newcastle side for the final clash in Glasgow after coming away with a 17-point advantage from the first leg of their semi-final tie with London Lions.

This year Hoops Aid will take place at the fabulous 02 Arena in London on Sunday the 10th May. It will feature as part of a day of Basketball action rounding off with the BBL Play Off Final. There will be stars of Stage, Screen and Sport on hand to guarantee a fabulous day of Hoops and Fun.


Ten games are on the schedule in the BBL Championship this weekend and there could be plenty of movement in race the for the playoff places.


Basketball England celebrated a day of Senior Cup Finals where the Men’s National Shield, Women’s National Trophy, Patrons Cup and Men’s National Trophy were all fiercely contested at Leeds Beckett University. The action packed day climaxed with Manchester Magic taking their second title of the season; the Men’s National Trophy after claiming victory in the National Cup only a few weeks before.


Well what a day of basketball action we had at Leeds Beckett for the Basketball England Senior Cup Finals. The four winners were Newcastle University, Oaklands College Wolves, Lancashire Spinners and Manchester Magic. These photos are all of Lancashire Spinners after their sensational win.


The BBL's two newest clubs grabbed the headlines with dramatic victories away from home on Sunday.


A Master Class in Officiating is taking place at the EIS in Sheffield, over the weekend of April 17-19. The Master Class will include speakers Ronnie Nunn (former Director of NBA referees), Howard Webb (PGMOL Technical Director), Mark Clark (Barking Academy Coach), Davorin Nakic and Alan Richardson from FIBA Europe Referee Department.
