Esh Group Eagles retained their BBL Championship title on Wednesday night after cementing the league title with a 107-97 win at Sport Central against Manchester Giants.

Last weekend saw a thrilling spectacle of junior basketball and fiercely fought encounters which culminated in Manchester Magic being crowned champions and taking both the Under 13 and 15 titles.

Sheffield Hatters have lifted the inaugural WBBL Title. There may have been a change in the official name of the organisation but there is little change in the outcome of the biggest of the competitions. The Hatters were pushed hard by the Nottingham Wildcats, but in the end it would be the perennial winners who would stand tall.

After Sunday's results in the BBL Championship, the fate of the final Play-Off spot will be decided between Bristol Flyers, Manchester Giants and Plymouth University Raiders, as Durham Wildcats and Leeds Force were officially eliminated from contention after Leicester Riders posted a big win against Wildcats at the Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre.

There were wins for four teams on a busy Sunday afternoon of BBL action. BBL Championship leaders Esh Group Eagles Newcastle made light work of despatching Manchester Giants to consolidate top spot as they secured a 117-87 road win.

Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters made history by winning the inaugural WBBL Championship season, after edging their season-long rivals Nottingham Wildcats in the standings with a 74-64 victory in the title-decider on the last weekend of the regular season.
