The 6’6” guard Williams, who spent the summer at OKC summer camp, has taken the decision to return to Europe for another year of preparation and development.

Despite numerous offers around the continent, Williams has chosen to return to the Sharks under the guidance of Coach Atiba Lyons.

“I recognised that I needed to consolidate for a season and I enjoyed my time so much in Sheffield, it is a great City with a good organisation who I felt really took care of me last season”, said Williams. “I feel I would benefit for another year here with Coach Lyons than I would anywhere else, and the place just feels like home”.

Head Coach Atiba Lyons has welcomed the surprise call and is delighted to see Dirk back in the fold for the 2018/19 season.

“I certainly wasn’t planning for Dirk to be here this year, but I understand his reasons and it is a very mature approach to his career in my opinion,” said Lyons. “He (Williams) brings a dynamic and exciting edge to the team, his athleticism is at times staggering as he demonstrated many times last season”.

Williams who caught the attention of the sporting community with his coast to coast play culminating in a huge dunk to finish. As global media “Sportscenter” reported it the Sheffield superstar went viral with over 2 million hits worldwide appreciating his talent.

“I am looking forward to this season, being familiar with everyone is a great feeling so I can concentrate on working hard to improve and bring some silverware back to this City! Said Williams.
