For decades I have had the pleasure of commentating on Junior basketball in the UK. The joys of Cosford, home of the EB Finals for many years, live long in the memory. In 2014 the England Basketball Final Fours took place at the Amaechi Centre in Manchester.
And so with Round 1 of the Play-Offs complete, the top 4 have all taken their place as the Final 4. One sad note on the week's events was the injury to Victor Moses of the Cheshire Phoenix.
Equity Housing group held their 2014 Staff Conference at the Hallmark Hotel in Handforth. I had the great pleasure of hosting the event. One of the Guest speakers was the legendary Manchester City footballer Shaun Goater.
Friday sees the first round games of the 2014 Play-Offs, Eagles v Wildcats, Lions v Wolves and the Phoenix v Riders. Game 4 takes place on Saturday between the Giants v Sharks.
Leeds Carnegie Basketball face the biggest weekend in the club’s history as they look to finish their tenure in Division One with the ultimate piece of silverware.
And so we arrive at the final week of the 2013/14 regular season. Congratulations to Fab Flournoy and the Newcastle Eagles who secured another BBL League Championship.
