Showdown – Look Who’s In The House Tonight

While the Sharks enjoyed a comfortable win over Birmingham, Phoenix star Victor Moses was on fire against Plymouth, with a staggering double-double of 50 points and 20 rebounds.
“He had a great offensive night,” said delighted Phoenix coach John Lavery.
“For anyone to put up 50 points in any league is tough, but all credit to his team-mates as well. They were getting him the ball in the right position.
“He was two-for-two from behind the three-point line as well!” Lavery said of his star forward, who is not known for his long-range shooting.
“He doesn’t really take the three, but we’ve been encouraging him because he gets wide open, so it was good to see him knock two of them down.
“It was a fantastic night for him but a lot of credit has got to go to his team-mates for getting him the ball.”
The Phoenix probably wouldn’t mind another huge game from Moses, but a win is the most important thing and Lavery knows that won’t come easy in Sheffield.
“You just know it’s going to be a tough, tough game,” he said.
“They’re on a good run at the moment, fighting for the championship and we’re in a good run of form as well, fighting to get into the top four or five, so it should be an interesting match-up.”
“We’ve just got to do what we can on the defensive end, to get some stops,” he added. “Mike Tuck has been outstanding for them, Olu Babalola brings a lot of experience to the team, and they’ve also got BJ Holmes and Patrick Horstmann, so they’re a talented, deep team.”
Last time they met:
Cheshire Phoenix 66 One Health Sharks Sheffield 72 (BBL Championship, Northgate Arena, Chester, 03/11/03)
What they say:
One Health Sharks Sheffield forward, Patrick Horstmann: “Moses is a great player and he has played an outstanding season. But we can’t only focus on him, because they have several talented players that can score in bunches.”
