Sharks Win -7

The big game will once again take place at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, a venue which proved to be a stunning backdrop for last years’ thrilling conclusion to the competition.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe biggest stories of the exciting eighth-final ties played out over the weekend were EBL side Bristol Academy Flyers upsetting Surrey United and BBL Cup winners Leicester Riders being dumped out by in-form Cheshire Phoenix.

And, the two headline-making clubs will now go head-to-head, after Flyers were given the task of heading to Northgate Arena to face Phoenix in search of another giant-killing.

One team who will be particularly eager to make it to the Final will be Glasgow Rocks, who would dearly love to step out on their home floor with some silverware at stake.

Before they can think too much about such an alluring prospect, they must hit the road and negotiate a tricky quarter-final contest at Manchester Giants.

One of the most intense last eight games could take place at Sport Central, where Esh Group Eagles Newcastle will await the arrival of either London Lions or Worcester Wolves who are involved in the last remaining eighth-final tie which will be played on Sunday 02 February.

Finally, One Health Sharks Sheffield will continue the defence of their coveted trophy with a trip to the south-west to face Plymouth University Raiders.

The 2014 BBL Trophy quarter-final draw:

Esh Group Eagles Newcastle v London Lions or Worcester Wolves
Plymouth University Raiders v One Health Sharks Sheffield
Manchester Giants v Glasgow Rocks
Cheshire Phoenix v Bristol Academy Flyers

All quarter-final ties will take place during mid-February, with the detailed schedule of game days and tip-off times to be confirmed soon.
