For a few years now I have had the great pleasure of hosting the Sefton Sports awards. They take place annually at the wonderful Floral hall in Southport.

It's 3.20am, we are 5 hours behind you in the UK and my body doesn't want any more sleep. (We had gone to bed about 8 pm thinking it was much later)

In May of 2014 I had a trip to Carriacou and Grenada in the Caribbean. It was a trip of sadness and joy. I was there to attend a funeral, but having never returned since leaving 46 years ago, there was an awful lot to see.

Capture the Cathedral is an annual photographic competition hosted by Manchester Cathedral where photographers are invited to photograph any aspect of the Cathedral. These can then be entered into the competition in one of three categories.

For decades I have had the pleasure of commentating on Junior basketball in the UK. The joys of Cosford, home of the EB Finals for many years, live long in the memory. In 2014 the England Basketball Final Fours took place at the Amaechi Centre in Manchester.

Equity Housing group held their 2014 Staff Conference at the Hallmark Hotel in Handforth. I had the great pleasure of hosting the event. One of the Guest speakers was the legendary Manchester City footballer Shaun Goater.

I have been hosting the TPAS Awards for a number of years now and it never ceases to amaze me how wonderful this event is. This is what they believe - "We believe in tenants and landlords working together to build great communities". TPAS stands for the Tenants Advisory and Participation Service, and they do wonderful work.

The Cheshire West and Chester Awards are another one of the exciting nights in the diary. Now renamed Active Cheshire, These Awards pay tribute to everyone involved in Sports in this area, at whatever level you are at.

Piccadilly Radio was one of the first Independent Radio Stations back in the day in the UK. It launched in 1974 and I had the great pleasure of working there between 1978 and 1986. These truly were the formative years of Commercial Radio in the UK and it was a joy to be a part of it.

Well in 2014 it was back to St John's Hotel in Solihull for the TPAS Awards, Central Regional Final
