The London 2012 Paralympic Games host broadcaster Channel 4 has further demonstrated its commitment to raising awareness of world-class elite disability sport by announcing that it will broadcast the BT Paralympic World Cup, taking place in Manchester from 23-28 May.
Well having been around sport for over 30 years it would be easy to assume that I’d seen it all. But when I got the phone call to commentate at the GB Cup in Sheffield for Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby, I simply had no idea what I was letting myself in for.
I suppose the first time I got a sense of something going on was a couple of months ago when I got a warning e-mail from my service provider saying I was close to exceeding my bandwidth allowance.
So as if by magic it is time for the Paralympic World Cup to take place again in the City of Manchester. This competition started back in 2005 and has taken place every year since then. As usual I will concentrate on the Wheelchair Basketball as that is what I am involved in.
