For the final game before Christmas 2023, the Sheffield Sharks' faithful turned out for a massive game against Bristol Flyers! It was a joy to play a part of this very competitive and exciting ball game which went into Overtime! On this occasion the Sharks would hang on for a glorious victory! Onwards and Upwards!!!

It was another glorious double header at the Canon Medical Arena, Sheffield last Sunday [10 12 2023]. Unfortunately after a terrible first quarter by the home team, The Phoenix would refuse to lose this one despite the gallant efforts of the Sharks for the next 3 quarters.

Sunday the 27th of November 2023, saw a truly magnificent day's basketball action at the awesome, Canon Medical Arena, Sheffield. It was the 1st Double Header of the season which saw the Sharks taking on the Flyers in the BBL and the Hatters taking on Newcastle in the WBBL. It was a joyous day all round. In another night for the ages, "The Sheffield Sharks defeated the Leicester Riders 91-84 , to improve their record to 5-1 on their new home court." This result also moves the Sharks up to 3rd in the BBL Championship standing with a record 8 & 6. The same number of wins as the Phoenix but with 2 more losses!

In their 1st defeat at the brand new 'Canon Medical Arena' the Sheffield Sharks were simply out-gunned by the hi-flying London Lions! Despite the fact that 2 of the Lion's' superstars were in their walking clothes, there was simply no way to slow down the Lions never mind stop them.

Well it has been a long time coming! I have been with the Sharks in excess of 25 years and it has been a ride. I really don't remember exactly what year it was that the organisation started talking about building their own venue. But it is here now and what a joy it was to commentate on their first BBL game on the 8th of October 2023. The performance of the team was extraordinary, destroying the Eagles by 30 points. The greatest joy for me was the full house at the Canon Medical Arena, and the incredible atmosphere! That was the day that was!!!
