Back in the day I used to present a very special programme on BBC Radio Manchester/GMR at lunchtime on a Sunday. The programme was called Sunday Spin. Recently I was going through a huge amount of papers and came across the playlist for my final Sunday Spin. The show was broadcast on the 23rd of October 1988. I thought I would put the playlist here on mikeshaft.com.

The original footage in this video was recorded at the 8411 Centre at The Moss Side Community Centre back in the day. If you follow the stuff on Facebook, it caused a bit of a stir a couple of years ago.

Legendary Soul diva, Patti LaBelle, headlines a star-studied mini-tour featuring international award winning artists, as part of the ‘Great Voices of Soul’ concerts. The tour kicks off at the O2 Apollo, Manchester on Friday 13th before moving on to at the SSE Arena, Wembley on 15th November finally ending in Birmingham at the 02 Academy on Monday 16.
