Cat Carr led Sevenoaks Suns to their second piece of WBBL silverware this season as she was awarded MVP honours in their 69-44 defeat of Leicester Riders in the WBBL Play-Off Final. Carr scored 19 points and added 8 assists and 8 rebounds to help the Suns produce a dominant 40 minutes of basketball at The 02. After the game she praised the team for sticking to their principles: “We just went out and played Sevenoaks Suns basketball,” said Carr.

Well one of the most anticipated announcements close to the end of each BBL season is that of the BBL MVP. As well as being the most anticipated, it is also, probably, the most contentious. However, the decision lies with those who are tasked with taking that decision and it is those MVPs that we celebrate on this page here on mikeshaft.com. This year it is Justin Robinson of the London Lions

On this page on mikeshaft.com we acknowledge the BBL Coach of the Year from 1988 through to the present day. In the early days this was dominated by legendary BBL Coach Kevin Cadle and in recent years if anyone has been dominant then it is Fab Flournoy of the Newcastle Eagles. However Rob Paternostro has now won the BBL Coach of the Year 7 times.

On Monday the 7th of May 2018, Manchester Thunder entertained Loughborough Lightning at Belle Vue and what an event it was! The high-light was welcoming home England Netball Coach Tracey Neville to the game. She had just led her team to Gold at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. It just had to be something special.
