The 21 year old guard has already impressed on the international stage having had a stand out tournament for Great Britain at Eurobasket 2013 in Slovenia. Where he posted 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game including a 13 point game against eventual European champions France.
Leeds Force Head Coach Matt Newby is thrilled with the signing of Van Oostrum saying “The opportunity to bring in a player of Devon’s calibre in at this juncture of the season is very exciting and is a game changer in terms of what we do on the floor. As an individual he has an extensive resume and I hope he will draw on those experiences to add to both our game day and practice culture. He has the ability not only to bring scoring to the team but also facilitate others and I hope we can maximise both sides of his game, as it could well be the difference in not just competing but vying for a playoff spot”
