The playmaker displayed the kind of trademark defensive intensity and leadership which previously helped former club Leicester Riders to three pieces of BBL silverware last season and also led to Taylor receiving the distinction of being named in the 2012-13 BBL Defensive Team of the Year.
But, it was his unselfishness and creative ability which shone most brightly during the month, with the player dishing out a stellar 36 assists during four victories, to help Wolves maintain their BBL title challenge.
By any measure and even across a relatively short time-frame, nine assists per game was deemed to be an outstanding accomplishment and it’s no surprise the player topped the assists chart.
Taylor also sat second in the steals table for December, averaging an excellent 3.3 each time he stepped out onto the hardwood.
Whilst providing others with opportunities to score was very much his forte during the wins against Durham Wildcats, Surrey United, London Lions and Birmingham Knights, Taylor also averaged double digits with 12.7 points per game.
Wolves’ team-mate Will Creekmore who claimed the award in October and also November winner Victor Moses of Cheshire Phoenix, both pushed Taylor hard for the accolade.
The guard has also continued his rich vein of form into January, making the BBL Team of the Week for a third time in five weeks after recording a superb 23 points and 11 assists for his team last weekend against Manchester Giants.
