This marks an historic moment for the club, as Leeds Carnegie Basketball was only founded in 2006 and has a meteoric rise to the top of the domestic game.
Carnegie also recently announced their inclusion in the British Basketball League (BBL) for the 2014/15 season.
As a pre-cursor to their full inclusion to the BBL they will compete in the BBL Trophy in January against the iconic Glasgow Rocks.
This historic moment is likely to be witnessed by a sell-out crowd at the Leeds Metropolitan University Sports Arena. Leeds Carnegie Head Coach Matt Newby is excited about the challenge saying “It will be the first time Leeds as a city has hosted this level of competition in season and we are excited to be opening the arena doors to the Glasgow Rocks.”
He continued, “I feel it is the perfect time for our thriving basketball community to celebrate what we have achieved. I know we are planning a feast of activities on this day and the game itself will be the icing on the cake.”
A limited number of tickets are being released for pre-sale at a promotional price of £6 for Adults, £3 Concessions and £15 Families (2+2) through the club’s website www.leedscarnegiebasketball.co.uk.
The game tips off at 7:30pm at the Leeds Metropolitan University Sports Arena (LS6 3QS) and is set to be the biggest ever night of basketball in West Yorkshire.
A small number of tickets will be available on the door at £8 Adults, £4 Concession and £20 Family (2+2).
