Phoenix new boy Visockis makes big impact on debut

The 6ft 10ins 27-year-old was picked up by Nix head coach John Lavery having featured last season for Papa John’s Omonia Nicosia in the Cypriot A Division.
And just 48 hours after arriving in the UK, The Don was introducing himself to BBL Championship title contenders Newcastle Eagles.
Fab Flournoy’s men simply could not live with the big man as he scored 11 points but pulled down 18 rebounds for a double-double that made the Nix offence and defence sing.
The result was a shock 87-79 win for the Nix and afterwards John Lavery was full of praise for his new signing.
“Don has come in and done a fantastic job,” he said. “He brought a quality we have been missing this season and his work made the whole team click.
“He adds a power dimension that takes some of the responsibility off Vic Moses and he makes sure we pick up more of those vital second-chance points off the rebound.
“He is also a tough guy to get around on defence and I think the Eagles were not prepared for him at all. Hopefully he is going to help spark the second half of the season for us.”
