FIBA Europe has decided to create a special programme for promoting women’s basketball. The official launch of the project was on March 8th (International Women‘s Day), during the All Star Game in Pécs, Hungary. The culmination of the project was at EuroBasket Women 2007 in Italy.

SUNSET RADIO RESPONSE TO THE GREEN PAPER PUBLISHED BY THE HOME OFFICE SUNSET RADIO is a group set up by Mike Shaft and Linbert Spencer to press for the introduction of an ethnic radio system in the United Kingdom. At the announcement of the experiment in 1985, Sunset Radio put together a group of people to apply for the Manchester Licence, under the Chairmanship of the former Lancashire and West Indian cricket captain Clive Lloyd.

After the Commonwealth Games in Manchester back in 2002, I applied for and got the job as Assistant Editor at BBC Radio Manchester. It was truly a joyous time for me to be in that position under the Editorship of Steve Taylor.
