The British Basketball League (BBL) announces the appointment of Aaron Radin as the league’s Chief Executive Officer.


In the final game of the day, Cheshire Phoenix moved up to fourth place in the standings with a convincing victory over the thoroughly entertaining Bristol Flyers, who failed to capitalise on the abundance of highlight plays they made throughout the game.

The 2021 City of Champions Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony on Thursday, 23 September, at the Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester was simply off the scale. The event was a huge success with 150 delegates attending. Speakers included Diane Modahl, Co-Founder and CEO of the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF); Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham; and BBC presenter Mike Shaft.

And what a night we had...the first home game of the new Vitality Super-league Season and at our brand new venue. The elements were all there for a truly stunning night. And a stunning night it was. A full house, an awesome game and a stunning come-from-behind victory that very few would have dreamed of midway through the 4th quarter. This is what Champions are made of!


On Thursday the 31st of October, The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation ‘City of Champions’ Gala Dinner was held at The Hilton Hotel, Manchester. This is an annual event which aims to acknowledge and celebrate the success of people in the areas of sport, education and business, who are giving back to the next generation of champions. I had the great pleasure of playing a small part in the proceedings.


Back in 2002 BBC Commonwealth Games Radio took to the airwaves to celebrate the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Recently a few of the staff got together at Media City for a catch-up. It was a truly joyous event.


Last Saturday, BBraun celebrated 20 years at their present site in Sheffield. A massive party was held for all the staff and I had the great pleasure of hosting the event. To say a fun day was had by all would be to massively understate the day's proceedings. It was truly joyous!
