This Thursday 14th February at 13:00UK The New SUNSET Radio will give you another chance to hear one of our favourite interviews from back in the day. Andrew Bridge began his basketball playing career with Mansfield before being picked up by Chris Finch at the Sharks. After 5 years in Sheffield, Andrew would head for Newcastle where he would become part of the most successful Franchise in the British Game. I am delighted that I was able to put a few questions to him.

And so on to part 2 of my interview with Legendary Manchester Giants player Mark Robinson. Mark has always been known as a man who speaks his mind and here he tells it like it is about the British game.

Legend is one of those terms used to describe players who tend to have been around a long time but occasional along comes someone who is not around for that long a time but who had such an impact that the term Legend fits him perfectly.

One of Great Britain's most successful athletes is Sarah Storey. She started out as a Paralympic swimmer changing to cycling after discovering that she was very good at it. In the run-up to the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, I am delighted to say that I got the opportunity to put some questions to her.

Last summer both the Great Britain Mens and Womens teams qualified for the top tier of European Basketball by advancing to Eurobasket A after a series of hard fought games. Both teams went unbeaten through the summer. Plans are well on the way for this summer's series of games which will see Chris Finch's Great Britain Men taking on the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Israel, while GB Women, under Head Coach Mark Clark, will face Ukraine, Lithuania, Germany and Israel.

Back in the day, I published a magazine called SHOOTING HOOPS and featured news and information from around the BBL. In issue number I, I included one of my favourite young British players Yorick Williams. In this special feature with some new photos - I want to give you a chance to hear again what he had to say.

Over the past years I have had the great pleasure of interviewing a number of celebrities. These have included politicians, sports people, musicians and comedians. In this section of mikeshaft.com, I will try to remember some of these people and give you a short resume of my interview with them. Please note these are done in no particular order.

A few weeks ago while at BBC GMR, the producer of the ‘Michelle Around Midnight’ programme Hayley CAVILL, gave me a new cd to listen to.
