The mercurial Watt was a beast in the BBL last season bagging numerous Player of the Month Awards playing for the Cheshire Phoenix. A stat line of 19 points and 12 rebounds whilst shooting an eye popping 64% from the floor marked Watt as key man on his team.

At 6’7″ Watt is athletic and commands the painted area. A graduate of Texas A&M University in the US, he was a key player there also, his last college season nailing 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Lions Head Coach, Nigel Lloyd commented, “Demond is a solid acquisition for us, he is proven and that’s the best thing I can say, he knows what our League is about and clearly goes to battle each and every night, I think he will bring a steel and character to us that will be positive.”

The Lions will be announcing a signing a day right up to Saturday’s friendly against the UMass Minutemen, tickets are available at ticketmaster.co.uk.

Player sponsorship is now available for Demond Watt on a first come first served basis.
