Well the new season is well and truly on the way, and the stars of Week 1 of the new BBL Season are, without doubt, new boys Bristol Flyers who secured Back2Back wins against the Raiders and the Rocks. Wolves start with big win against the Eagles while the Giants have the measure of the Sharks.

Bristol Flyers could not have asked for a better start to their first season in the British Basketball League after recording two wins on the opening weekend of the 2014-15 BBL Championship.

The curtain will be raised tonight on what many are predicting will be the most open and competitive season in BBL history.

It's Week 1 of the 2014/15 BBL Season and there are some very tasty games to get us on the way. It all gets going with Eagles v Wolves on Friday

Following a successful debut season, BBL TV will be back on our screens later this month when Plymouth University Raiders host Surrey United on the opening weekend.

Through-out 2014, the BBC has been commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War 1. A major event was held in Albert Square Manchester and I had the great pleasure of hosting the Saturday Events.
