The Londoner joins Vince Macaulay’s side after a very successful three seasons at the Leicester Riders helping them to their most successful period in their history.

Forward Sullivan was the MVP of the British Basketball League in 2013 when he led the Riders to three of the four available trophies that year, BBL Championship, BBL Cup and the BBL Play-offs. His averages of 15 points 8 rebounds and 4 assists saw him claim that MVP title, his second having done so in the 2005-06 season as well.

This past season produced similar statistics as well as the BBL Cup where a scintillating last few minutes saw him almost singlehandedly claw victory from the Esh Group Eagles Newcastle.

Coach Vince Macaulay had this to say about his new signing: “Firstly I’d like to thank GLL Sports Foundation and our sponsors for making this possible, we are very proud to have Drew at the club, we have signed him on a two year contract and we expect him to help shape the direction of the club. I have known Drew since he was a young lad with Joe White and it has been my desire to ensure there was a club in London that could bring him back, and now that has happened I’m delighted. He is a winner with a winning mentality and we want to surround him with those kind of players so we can challenge for every honour in the game.”

Sullivan commented, “Words can’t begin to express my excitement about returning home. Any one that knows me knows my pride of being a Londoner. Now to have the chance to represent my home town team as a professional player is honestly a dream come true.”

Macaulay added, “The Copper Box is a great place to watch professional basketball in London, we want to put a great team on the floor and Drew Sullivan will make our fans happy as will Zaire Taylor, Makal Stibbins and the host of signings we have, our fans are going to get great value from their season tickets as we provide exciting basketball in a big setting.”

The Lions will launch the season with a pre-season International Friendly against Euroleague team and new Polish Champions PGE Turow, on the 6th of September before the regular season starts later that month.
