Russell PERMENTER 2

Permenter joins Carnegie after a successful spell down under in Australia’s Big V league for the Latrobe City Energy, where he averaged 18.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game. He also has playing experience in USA, China, Thailand as well as Australia.

Matt NEWBY Leeds Carnegie Head Coach Matt Newby is excited about Permenter’s arrival saying “Russell brings us a new look on the interior and a great attitude towards both his own development and the evolution of the team between now and the close of the season. His mobility and athletic play at both ends of the floor will help considerably.”

Permenter has received playing clearance from Australia and the club is hoping that his registration in the UK will be in place for him to play in the club’s first ever BBL game this Friday against Glasgow Rocks.

Permenter is looking forward to the season saying “I am excited to be here and starting to play with the team. I have had a great reception and I am really looking forward to competing.”

He continued “I will be looking to bring some defensive intensity to the court and a style of play that I hope the fans enjoy. I am hoping to help the club achieve success on and off the court.”

Permenter will join the squad this week in the preparation not just for the BBL Trophy match up with Glasgow on Friday but also Saturday’s home game against Hemel Storm in Division One.
