WEEK 4 RESULTS

WOLVES’ UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES. EAGLES TAKE ROCKS DOWN

Having won all four games in the British Basketball League (BBL), Worcester Wolves extended their winning streak to five on Friday. Wolves put together yet another great display to open the BBL Cup competition with an impressive 88-66 victory against Manchester Giants at home in University of Worcester Arena.

The duo of Will Creekmore and Alex Owumi combined for 47 points for Wolves, with the latter treating the spectators to a firework show from long-range, making 7-of-10 three-point attempts.

David Aliu was the top-scorer for Giants with 15 points, but the entire team shot only 31% from the field, preventing the Manchester club from putting up more of a fight.

Meanwhile, Esh Group Eagles Newcastle and Glasgow Rocks squared off in the battle of the north in the BBL Championship, with Eagles triumphing 98-70 after a great fourth quarter to improve to 5-1 in the standings.

Charles Smith had a game-high 24 points for the winners, while Darius Defoe contributed with a great all-around performance of 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

An impressive double-double by Daniel Northern, who finished the game with 17 points and 17 boards, could not save the Rocks, who slumped to their second defeat in three games.
