The game, to be played at the Manchester Arena, is part of the NBA’s comprehensive Global Games schedule that will feature eight NBA teams playing in six countries as part of the 2013-14 NBA pre-season.

BBVA, the NBA’s official banking partner, will present the NBA’s series of games in Europe for the second consecutive year. adidas, The City of Bilbao, Footlocker, Manchester City Council and Stubhub, will also join as partners of the game.

For the Thunder, featuring four-time NBA All-Star and 2012 Olympic Gold medallist Kevin Durant, it will be the team’s first trip to Europe since moving to Oklahoma City. The Thunder will also play a game in Istanbul, Turkey, on Oct. 5 against Euroleague Basketball’s Fenerbahçe Ülker.

The Philadelphia 76ers feature a dynamic young roster led by the NBA All-Star Jrue Holiday, along with Thaddeus Young, and Evan Turner. Prior to Manchester, the 76ers will play a game in Bilbao, Spain, on Oct. 6, against Euroleague Basketball’s Uxue Bilbao Basket.

The NBA Global Games will see eight NBA teams play in eight cities in six countries this October. The schedule – which will also feature the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Washington Wizards – will include the first-ever NBA preseason games to be held in Brazil and the Philippines, and in the cities of Bilbao and Manchester. It will also include games in Beijing, Istanbul, Shanghai, and Taipei.
