The 6ft 8ins forward, 23, was part of the Spain squad that won the 2006 under-16 European Championships, counting NBA star Ricky Rubio as one of his team-mates.

Giants coach Jeff Jones is delighted to have brought in another new face after recruiting Rob Marsden, Keith Page and Yorick Williams, as well as bringing back most of last year’s squad.

“He comes from a very, very good basketball country and a sound basketball background,” said Jones.

“He is going to be a very good player for us.

“He is smart and talented and he gives us some depth inside.”

The Giants start their BBL campaign with a trip to the Copper Box to face London Lions on Friday, September 27, before hosting Sheffield Sharks at Wright Robinson on Sunday, September 29.
