The 38-year-old has played for a host of BBL teams and was part of Leicester Riders’ treble-winning success last season.

Williams is the sixth player to be named in coach Jeff Jones’ squad for the new campaign.

Jones said: “Yorick is a talented and experienced performer who knows what this league is all about.

“He will give us toughness and leadership as we prepare for the new campaign.

“We are delighted to have him.”

He joins James Jones, Stefan Gill, Mike Bernard, David Watts and Keith Page on the Giants’ roster.

More signings will be announced as soon as possible.
