One of the showpiece events in the UK basketball calendar, the competition has a new home for its’ climax, with the Emirates Arena, Glasgow playing host to the event on Saturday 9th March 2013 (3pm).

BBL Trophy Final Day is one of the most eagerly-anticipated of the season as the stars of the British game lay it all on the line in pursuit of this coveted piece of silverware.

Last season saw a tense finale to the Trophy competition as the Newcastle Eagles narrowly saw off the challenge of the UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders.

And, it looks like there could well be an underdog stepping out at the big game, after the top three title chasing teams in the BBL Championship all came out in the same half of the semi-final draw.

The winners of the respective quarter-finals match-ups between Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders and Surrey Heat, and Newcastle Eagles and Worcester Wolves, will lock horns in one of the semi-final ties.

That means a potential re-run of the BBL Cup Final should Riders and current Trophy holders Newcastle both prevail.

Meanwhile in the other half of the draw, One Health Sharks Sheffield are already safely into the last four of the competition and they will face either Cheshire Phoenix or EBL surprise package Worthing Thunder in the other semi-final.

The ties will be played over two legs and will be concluded no later than the 24th February. Exact dates and times of the semi-finals will be scheduled in due course, once the participants have been determined.

Confirmation of the draw for the semi-finals of the BBL Trophy is as follows:

Sharks v Phoenix or Thunder
Riders or Heat v Eagles or Wolves

BBL Trophy Final day will also see Scottish basketball taking centre stage with the City of Edinburgh Kings and Clark Eriksson Falkirk Fury battling it out for the BBL Challenge Shield. Final day will also feature a host of other entertainment, including the fantastic BBL Babes Cheerleaders, All Star Acrobatic Dunkers, FOXY the BBL mascot and much more.
