Neslihan Darnel was the absolute star as Turkey destroyed Great Britain in the CEV European Women's League Game at the EISS in Sheffield last weekend. Turkey took the first match by 3 sets to 1 (17-25 25-21 17-25 23-25).

Honestly, sometimes I really wonder. Amongst my many favourite sayings is this one - tell me the rules and then we’ll play the game. I have only ever coached once, in a camp held by Chris Finch some years ago. I am actually a qualified Level 2 coach, at the hands of Mike Burton, but I have never really used it. Chris was running this camp at Loughborough University and John Timms asked if I would like to coach a team. Obviously I said yes and we all arrived and got down to business.

Back in 2002 during the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, I got a phone call from the manager of BBC GMR asking if I was available to present their Sunday Breakfast programme as holiday cover.
